About CORTIMENT. ®MMX® CORTIMENT is a locally acting corticosteroid in a novel, patented, oral tablet formulation, which utilizes MMX® multi-matrix technology and is designed to result in the controlled release and distribution of budesonide throughout the length of the colon.

The summary of product characteristics states that the most common adverse effects of budesonide MMX are nausea, upper abdominal pain, headache, insomnia, altered mood, decreased blood cortisol, influenza and viral upper respiratory tract infection.
