BARBARA SCHWARTZ BROMBERG ALLIANCE PARTNER SPONSOR AWARD
Keith Steiner

In celebration of Barbara's passion for our community and friendship – the NICF Board of Directors has established a new award to be shared from time to time with an Alliance Partner. The first Barbara Schwartz Bromberg Alliance Partner Sponsor Award was presented to a gentleman who has reflected extraordinary commitment to the NICF.

As was said of Barbara, one would say of this gentleman:
He has helped all Greek organizations make real strides by offering stability and problem solving capabilities. His genuine and humble nature encourage others to participate.
He is a pillar of the Greek Foundation community – just like Barbara - he was involved since the FIRST Foundation Seminar for Greek Foundations in 1988 until present day.
One can tell from his friendship, encouragement, and advice, he believes in the fraternity experience and what we do.
In addition to being an Alliance Partner – he also serves as a committee member for our Institute for Greek Advancement.
Lastly, and certainly an attribute for which he is known--his professional experience and financial acumen has resulted in steady advice that has benefited our Greek community for many years.

Keith Steiner – the NICF Board of Directors is honored to present the first Barbara Schwartz Bromberg Alliance Partner Sponsor Award to you!

Outstanding Volunteer Award
Dr. Thomas Jelke

In the words of one of our winners many nominators. "Tom has served the AFA Foundation board as its chairman since 2006, after having joined the board in 2001. From 2005 to 2008 restricted and unrestricted donations have increased 24% and nearly 150 new donors were identified. Under Tom's watch the AFA Foundation has been able to endow scholarship to the Annual Meeting, cultivate gifts, and increase the level of educational
programming provided to the organizations members. Tom's influence, dedication, and tenacity constitute a triple threat in anyone's language."

Another nominator stated, Dr. Jelke's leadership is impeccable. Not only does he support and create a culture of leadership around those with whom he works, Tom serves as a role model and leads by involving and motivating others. It is my belief that all of these accomplishments represent outstanding leadership worthy of individual recognition. Through Tom's leadership there are more and better trained advisors working with our fraternities and sororities today."

As a collective of industry leaders, we couldn't agree more and are very honored to present Dr. Thomas Jelke with the Outstanding Foundation Volunteer Award.

William D. Jenkins Outstanding Professional Of The Year
David R. Schumacher

Our award winner, like the other storied recipients of the Jenkins award has a proud history in the fundraising industry. One of Dave's nominators states, "Dave, while not a member of Delta Upsilon, was able to come into the position and have an immediate impact. He did not miss a step and in fact was able to stabilize the staff, and led the
charge to refresh and grow the Foundation's Board of Trustees after the departure of Dave's predecessor."

A nominator also states that "it would be short sighted to say that Dave Schumacher's wealthof knowledge and
experience haveonly been an asset to Delta Upsilon. It is safe to say that his hiring changed the DY Foundation in more ways than a letter of support allows me to entail. Whether it is a jump in net assets, the addition of more than 50 schoalrships to our portfolio, or the affect that the Foundation has had on the lives of our undergraduate and alumni brothers, Dave is deserving of our thanks and I believe the honor of recognition among his peers in the interfraternal community.

We award a long time alumnus of The Institute for Greek Advancement, and one of the stalwarts of THE Foundations Seminar, a proud brother of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Executive Director of the Delta Upsilon Foundation: Mr. David R. Schumacher.
