What Was Your Best Putt Ever? Last year, more than 130 golfers participated in the ESEF's time-honored tradition: the annual golf tournament. It's a day well-spent every year on a Friday in early May to support El Segundo's public schools. This year, the ESEF welcomes you to join in the fun at the 21st Annual "Strokes of Genius" Golf Tournament on Friday, May 8, 2009 at Rio Hondo Golf Club in Downey (this is a different date from the originally published May 1st tournament date – please mark your calendars for the 8th!). Online registration for the Golf Tournament is now available. Golfers can register solo, with a friend, or as a foursome using the secure form on the ESEF website. Corporate Sponsorship opportunities are also available through the website and may be selected using the online form or through the mail by printing and mailing the sponsorship form. Also in May, the ESEF recommends a visit to experience the sights and sounds at the Automobile Driving Museum of El Segundo during the 2nd Annual "Car People for Education" Car Show on Saturday, May 30th, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. also in support of El Segundo schools. If you've never been to the Museum--or the Car Show--you won't want to miss either! This fun and educational activity is great for families and open to the entire community. Take a peek at locally-owned antique, custom, classic, vintage and special interest cars (including surf wagons, sports cars, pure stock cars and trucks, hot rods, and motorcycles). Museum access is included with the price of admission on the day of the Car Show. Car Owners – here's your opportunity to enter your vehicle to compete for first or second place awards in several categories with special awards for Best of Show, People's Choice, and Sponsors' Choice.
