Career Resources Through the
Aggie Network
Former students looking for assistance with their job search have several resources available to them through the Aggie Network. The Association of Former Students provides funding to the Texas A&M Career Center to assist former students in career transition. Services include resume review
and networking advice. In addition, our partners at AggieCareers.com provide resources designed to specifically connect former students with employers interested in hiring Aggies. To learn more about these and other Aggie networking resources, please click the headline.

Run For The Ring
The starting cannon fires at 9 a.m. March 7 for the eighth annual Run for the Ring, sponsored by the Traditions Council and The Association of Former Students. All participants in the 5-kilometer run/walk will be entered into a drawing in which four people will win a certificate for a free Aggie Ring. Winners will not receive their Aggie Ring until they are qualified to do so, and those who already have a Ring have a chance to add a diamond or win a Ring for another qualified Aggie.

Aggie Ring Day
April 17 is the next Aggie Ring Day and the first Ring delivery in the newly enhanced Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni Center since November 2007. A ticket is required for Ring pickup; tickets will be available that morning starting at 7:15 a.m., and about 800 to 1,000 tickets will be distributed by 8 a.m. Ring
distribution will begin at 3 p.m. and continue until 6 p.m. Computer wallpaper featuring Rings of various Class years is available at AggieNetwork.com under the Aggie Downloads tab. The Class of '09 wallpaper was recently added.

Historic Military Walk
Set For Restoration
One of Texas A&M's historic landmarks will soon undergo restoration. Military Walk is a 1,500-foot pedestrian greenway that connects Sbisa Dining Hall to the Rudder/Memorial Student Center Complex. The work, fully funded by Dan Hughes '51, will include installation of brick and limestone pavers, historic markers and landscaping enhancements along the path. Military Walk, where thousands of Aggies once assembled daily, has evolved from a dirt road in the early 1880s to a narrow paved street in the early 1900s to a pedestrian walkway in the 1970s.

Texas A&M Receives 26,007
Applications For Class Of '13
Texas A&M University received a record 26,007 applications for admission to the freshman class this fall. That's an all-time high and an increase of 6.7 percent from last year. Officials hope to enroll a freshman class this fall of about 8,100, which is about the same size as the freshman Class of 2008 and among the largest in the country.

Mays MBA Program Ranked
Financial Times ranked the MBA program at Mays Business School 11th in the nation overall for public institutions. The program tied for first place in placement and ranked second in the category of value for the money. For the second consecutive year, the MBA program was ranked at the top of the list for public schools when ranked by placement alone. Several other rankings emerged from the Financial Times list. Architecture Programs
Ranked Nationally
The Master of Architecture program at Texas A&M ranks fifth nationally among public universities, according to "America's Best Architecture & Design Schools." That's a leap from last year's ninth-place ranking in the list compiled annually by the Design Futures Council. The program was also ranked fifth nationally in the use of computer applications in design, and also earned "high distinction" as one of 16 schools making the publication's list of "America's World-class Schools of Architecture." On the same list, A&M's graduate and undergraduate programs in landscape architecture were ranked among the nation’s best, with the Master of Landscape Architecture program ranking fourth and the Bachelor of Landscape Architecture placing fifth. The publication also placed the preparedness of A&M landscape architecture graduates on top in five vital skill areas.
