One of Texas A&M's historic landmarks will soon undergo restoration. Military Walk is a 1,500-foot pedestrian greenway that connects Sbisa Dining Hall to the Rudder/Memorial Student Center Complex. The work, fully funded by Dan Hughes '51, will include installation of brick and limestone pavers, historic markers and landscaping enhancements along the path. Military Walk, where thousands of Aggies once assembled daily, has evolved from a dirt road in the early 1880s to a narrow paved street in the early 1900s to a pedestrian walkway in the 1970s. |

On the same list, A&M's graduate and undergraduate programs in landscape architecture were ranked among the nation’s best, with the Master of Landscape Architecture program ranking fourth and the Bachelor of Landscape Architecture placing fifth. The publication also placed the preparedness of A&M landscape architecture graduates on top in five vital skill areas. |
